The 5th Wall

You spent weeks looking over paint chips, doing google searches, and flipping through decorating magazines to find the perfect color for your walls. Then, without giving it much thought at all, you paint the ceiling boring old white. Sound familiar?
We've got nothing against white paint! We actually LOVE white! We just don't think it has to be the only choice in ceiling color. We found some great ideas for painting your ceilings a variety of colors, from the soft light blue above to the daring bright red below.

Love purple but not enough to have it dominate the whole room? Paint the ceiling  in this bright hue and it naturally draws your eyes up. Guaranteed to get oohs and ahs from anyone who enters your home.

This gray ceiling with neutral toned walls makes for a warm and inviting space.

The gold and blue scheme is bold and stylish, the perfect setting for dinners to remember.

This rich green is a great color for these vaulted ceilings. The light reflects off of it and makes the whole room shine.

This room is clean and crisp and the neutral toned ceiling adds depth and sophistication.

White walls with a dark floor and gray ceiling give this kitchen a simple and modern feel.

Think neutral colors are boring? Think again! We love this warm and inviting dining room.
For your next painting project, consider painting the ceiling a darker color than the walls. You'll be impressed with how much this 5th wall can add to your decor.
